The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice.

The Trinity

We believe that the Scriptures reveal the triune God whose person, nature, and character forever is God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the source and foundation of all that is. God has established order and relationships within creation.

Sin

We believe that God created man and woman in His image. Because human beings chose to disobey God, their nature became sinful, resulting in alienation from God, from one another, from themselves, and from the rest of creation.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, came to earth to reveal the Father and to provide God’s only plan of salvation for sinful humanity. New life in Christ is given to all who turn from evil through faith in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit enables the believer to make full surrender to the work of Christ and to walk in the fullness of His power.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit works in the world, intercedes for the believer, guides us in all truth, and is present in the life of the church, gifting persons for witness and service.

The Church

We believe the church is God’s primary means for worship, fellowship, evangelism, and discipleship.

Eternity

We believe the final destiny of all things lies in God’s hands. We believe that the return of Christ in power and glory is certain and may occur at any time. God will judge righteously at the close of the age. All created things will be brought to their order in the eternal Kingdom.

Statement of Belief : Confession of Faith

Our statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that the statement of faith accurately represents the teachings of the Bible and therefore is binding upon all members, staff, and volunteers. All literature, whether print or electronic, used in the church shall be in complete agreement with the statement of faith. All activities permitted or performed in any facilities owned, rented, or leased by Fairview shall support this statement of faith. Any members of the church staff (paid or volunteer) and all church leadership shall support this statement of faith. In all conflicts regarding interpretation of the statement of faith, the pastor and the board, on behalf of the church, have final authority.
